Digital clones: permissions and control

What to agree before cloning a face or voice: purpose, assets, publication, access and deletion.

Identify whose rights are involved

The client and the person depicted may differ. Authority, recording rights and the intended use need review. Russian Civil Code image protection does not replace separate assessment of voice, recording and personal-data issues.

Describe authorised scenarios

Document purpose, platforms, languages, duration, authorised users, script approval and restrictions. Permission for training videos does not automatically cover advertising statements. Enquiry-processing consent does not authorise either.

Arrange secure handover and access

Do not submit personal recordings through public forms or AI chat. Agree a secure channel, processors, storage and deletion before upload. Restrict clone access and require established approval before publication.

Plan how use ends

Define how permission can be withdrawn, new publication stopped and source assets deleted. Existing publications and lawful retention require individual consideration. Scenario-specific documentation cannot be replaced by a universal website checkbox. INTO’s documents link to the legal basis.
